Gumps Mary Gold Saga march 27 1929 Follow the crowd

We looked it up. Delirium was from march 19. Then there is a short gap in our newspapercuts. Yesterday was march 26 and now the dramatic story continues. Thanks to the Loac essentials!

Thou art the man

Same saga. At last the bad guy gets what he deserves. Deceiving a poor girl and getting his innocent opponent in prison. Now everything gets better... Or not?

to be continued

Delirium

An original scan of the newspaperbestseller of all times. The Marie Gold Saga of the Gumps from 1929. Luckily published as the LOAC essential number 2. However always nice to sniff the original newspaper. It is no coincidence these were cut out from the paper, back in 1929. It was so immensely popular. The whole country pitied poor Mary Gold. Here we see innocent Tom imprisoned in a delirium and longing for Mary! MARY! MARY!

In the land of the wonderful dreams

Completely redundant, because of the Taschen publication of the complete Little Nemo  by Alexander Braun,  to place a Little Nemo page. However now you can look it up. This page is from 1913.

Reading a puzzle. Looking puzzled.

Well, not much to read. Fine artwork anyhow.

Just a 1915 comic to celebrate a new year

A modest start of this year and just to reward those viewers with a poor scan of an original Mutt and Jeff World War I comic (ripped from some auction site). New old newspapers scans will come up like the Frank King editorials from 1915 and of course Jiggs and Maggie (Bringing up Father). That was the reason for this blog. Hope to surprise you regularly with dailies or sunday newspaper comics.
