Mutt and Jeff by Bud Fisher eh.... Al Smith

In 1932 Fisher, by then the highest-paid cartoonist, earnig $4000 a week, hired Smith to draw the strip. It was the beginning of a fractious relationship (The star ledger, wednesday November 26, 1986- Death of Al Smith).
